Wow. I’m saddened, but not surprised. As a teacher in a title one school, I see every day how our society values the lives of African American children. And yet, it is part of a massive inversion — African Americans built the economic foundation of our country ( see Baptist- The Half Has Never Been Told), yet they have far less generational wealth than European Americans. They sacrificed greatly to build schools and obtain education for their children, but as a society we have obscured and (literally) thrown that history away.
