What we ask of ER doctors (and police, for that matter) is unrealistic. I appreciate you being there in our deeply flawed system, offering the care that you can. I work in a school for children with mental health challenges, most of them the result of trauma related to poverty. It would be so much better to prevent many of them problems we both say, but that is not they way our society and mindsets are oriented right now.
