Just to point out: Unfortunately most colleges and universities are reducing or eliminating tenure track positions. So the $90K average salary listed here for philosophy/religion profs reflects people who are tenured and near retirement. The institutions that haven’t just eliminated these departments outright are already being replacing full time professors with low paid adjuncts who have no job security, and usually can’t even get benefits.
